October 29 · A day for every one of us.
OUR VERY HUMAN STORY

A day for the
wonder of us.

Being human is a remarkable thing.
Let’s take a day to appreciate it.

OCTOBER 29 · EVERY YEAR
People holding hands around a smiling Earth with a sun and daisies.
A happy holiday.
A shared little planet.

For all the things that make life, life.

That unexpected laugh. A song that finds the right feeling. A warm meal, a brave first try, a hand reaching for yours. Making mistakes. Learning something new. Caring about a person you’ve never met.

Human Appreciation Day celebrates the wonders of the human experience, from our enormous imagination to the quiet, ordinary moments that hold a life together.

It’s a cheerful invitation to pause each October 29, notice the humans around us, and say: I’m glad you’re here.

Every human belongs here.

There is no framework to subscribe to, no membership to earn, and no ideal way to be a person. Every nationality, culture, belief, gender, age, and ability belongs in this celebration.

You can be having a wonderful year or a difficult afternoon. You can love a crowd or prefer a quiet corner. You don’t have to feel happy on demand. Your experience is part of being human, too.

No rulebook.
No perfect humans required.
Just a little appreciation.

A little room for humanity in a changing world.

Technology is changing quickly. Conversations about artificial intelligence, transhumanism, and the future can raise big questions. Human Appreciation Day makes room for a simple, positive response: appreciating human life as we experience it, here and now.

You don’t have to take a side in those conversations to join in. People who use medical devices, prosthetics, assistive technology, or other tools belong completely. Nobody has to prove how human they are.

At its heart, this day is about connection, dignity, curiosity, and the joy of sharing a world with one another.

And a little appreciation for our shared home.

Our human stories unfold on one extraordinary Earth. Sunshine, water, daisies, trees, and the living world make those stories possible. Celebrating our humanity can include caring for Mother Nature and the home we share.

Let’s help the idea grow.

We want October 29 to become a nationally and internationally recognized annual day of appreciation. This is an independent campaign, and formal recognition is still our goal. We aren’t affiliated with a government or an international body.

The petition brings our support together. There is no signature threshold that automatically makes the day official. You can help by signing, sharing the idea, and starting your own little celebration.

Everyone can celebrate. The online petition is for adults 18 and over.

One day. Every human.
A whole lot to appreciate.
